Guiding Vision

Health for Humanity envisions a world in which all members of the human family have the resources and educational opportunities to address the health challenges of their communities and are able to shoulder leadership for their own well-being.

Mission

Health for Humanity works to inspire and mobilize local communities and global resources to improve health through medical training, leadership education, and technical support.

Core Values

  • Respect: We value the nobility, capacity, and contributions of all people, treasuring the diversity of cultures and the equality of women and men.
  • Health:  We value the physical, material, mental and spiritual well being of all people, for we are all interdependent upon one another and our shared planet.
  • Capacity-Building:  We value strengthening of the capability of our partners, as well as ourselves, to wisely address the needs in our communities, so that service is not an end in itself, but awakens the noble contribution each person can offer to the welfare of all.

Relationship to the Bahá’í Faith

The central principles that guide Health for Humanity’s developmental philosophy are inspired by the teachings of the Bahá’í Faith, including the oneness of humanity, the nobility of every human being, and the use of group consultation for decision-making.  While Health for Humanity is an independent non-governmental organization, and does not draw funding from any religious group, it is a Bahá’í-inspired organization and therefore, naturally, often seeks advice from and collaboration with Bahá’í institutions whose expertise on the Bahá’í-inspired model of development has proven valuable during the organization’s evolution. Health for Humanity members are from diverse ethnic, religious and professional backgrounds and membership is open to anyone interested in development under the Health for Humanity model.
