What We Do

Program Areas
Health for Humanity projects work to achieve our mission of inspiring and mobilizing local and global communities to improve health. Efforts to achieve our mission fall under two main program categories: technical training and health systems development. All projects address health issues and challenges identified by our local partners and emphasize capacity building to ensure sustainability.
- Technical Training: This is the core service offered by Health for Humanity through its volunteers. Within each community where Health for Humanity works, we focus Technical Training project activities on the areas identified by local hospitals and other institutions with which we partner. These project activities include surgical training, clinical training, and lectures in medical specialties and on specific diseases.
- Health Systems Promotion and Development: Within each community and country where Health for Humanity works, we also maximize and reinforce the effects of the Technical Training program through Health Systems Promotion activities which work with local partners to encourage knowledge dissemination among peers (training of trainers), group consultation, and consensus building. Health for Humanity has developed its Values-based Leadership curriculum as the cornerstone of this program.
