What We Do

Program Areas
Health for Humanity focuses primarily on blindness prevention and development of vision services to address local health issues and challenges, emphasizing capacity building to ensure sustainability. Health for Humanity currently has two Vision Promotion projects in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and Tianjin, China, which are primarily served by volunteer ophthalmologists and optometrists. In addition, Health for Humanity offers multi-specialty volunteer service opportunities for other medical fields through projects in Bangladesh and Yueyang, China. In each project partnership, Health for Humanity strives to offer the following as appropriate for the project site:
- Medical Training: Surgical and clinical training, and lectures in medical specialties and on specific diseases.
- Fellowship Sponsorship: Advanced courses at world-renowned training institutions for promising young health professionals to develop specialized clinical and surgical skills needed in their region.
- Sustainable Leadership: Leadership training that promotes communication, consensus-building, and the sharing of knowledge among health professionals.
